Beakerhead Update #2

7 DAYS UNTIL BEAKERHEAD!

We have been busy - bottles have been sorted and de-labelled, frames have been built and painted and many slices of pizza have been eaten.

The working group from Calgary Can, Entuitive Engineering and Mckinley Burkart, along with dozens of amazing, helpful volunteers have been hard at work and the end is in sight!

In addition to the tireless work from our project team and volunteers, there are a few organizations that we cannot thank enough for making this entire project possible:

• Calibre Coatings Ltd. provided us with recycled paint!
• Carbon Copy Digital is helping us with our messaging!
• Dream Unlimited donated the use of a warehouse where we trust our hard work will be safe!
• Green Event Services allowed us to use their yard so we could sort bottles in the sunshine!
• Rona Contractor First (on Ogden Road) sold us our supplies at a hugely discounted rate!
• Ryan Murphy Construction brokered some incredible deals on supplies and labour for us!
• The Uptown Bottle Depot lent us thousands of bottles and so much more!

So many bottles...thank you Uptown!

Beakerhead Update #1

27 DAYS UNTIL BEAKERHEAD!

Over the last few weeks, we've been hard at work refining our design plan, finalizing some last minute details and sorting through thousands of bottles (more like thousands and thousands and thousands of bottles)!

We wouldn't be able to do this project without the help of some amazing volunteers and in-kind donations from some equally amazing local businesses - we are truly lucky to live in such a generous and caring city!

Countdown to Beakerhead is on!

55 DAYS UNTIL BEAKERHEAD!

We had our kickoff meeting last night which means the Beakerhead project is officially underway! The project team, comprised of amazing and dedicated volunteers from Calgary Can, Entuitive and Mckinley Burkart, mapped out the next eight weeks and are very excited to get things moving.

We will be providing updates on our progress over the next few months, including lots of pictures, but for now we can tell you that our interactive exhibit will be located outside the north doors of Eau Claire Market. 

Beakerhead will run from September 14 to 18 at various locations around the City - make sure you come and check it out!
